Guido Porcaro

Hello there!

I'm Guido Porcaro, a software engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality, handcrafted code.
But you can call me elgorditosalsero - it's a funny nickname that reflects my love for salsa dancing and my slightly larger-than-life personality.

Who am I?

When I'm not coding, you can find me on the dance floor, moving to the rhythm of the music.
Salsa dancing is not just a hobby for me, it's a way of life. I love the energy, the passion, and the connection that comes from dancing with others.

I also enjoy hitting the open road on my motorbike, feeling the wind in my hair and the sun on my face.
There's something liberating about being out on the road, exploring new places and experiencing the world in a different way.

One of the things I'm most proud of in my work is coaching and mentoring junior developers.
I believe in helping others grow and develop their skills, and I take pride in seeing my team members succeed.
Whether it's through one-on-one coaching sessions or group training sessions, I'm always looking for ways to help others improve.

If you're looking for a software engineer who is not only skilled and experienced, but also passionate and dedicated, you've come to the right place.
Let's work together to bring your ideas to life!

Curriculum Vitae

Experiences and Strengths

With over 9 years of experience as a front-end engineer, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the most popular frameworks in the industry, including React and Angular.

Throughout my career, I've worked for a variety of companies, both in consultancy and product development.
This has given me a unique perspective on the industry and allowed me to develop a wide range of skills.

During my time in consultancy, I had the opportunity to work on over 5 different projects, each with its own unique challenges and requirements.
This experience helped me grow my hard skills and become a more versatile and adaptable engineer.

But it's not just my hard skills that have grown over the years.
Working in different companies at different stages of my career has also helped me develop my soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and leadership.
I believe that these skills are just as important as technical expertise when it comes to delivering high-quality work and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Leadership

I believe in setting a positive example for my team members and empowering them to reach their full potential.
I'm not afraid to take charge when necessary, but I also know when to step back and let others take the lead.
By fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication, I'm able to bring out the best in my team and deliver exceptional results.

Transparency

I believe that transparency is key to building trust and fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
That's why I always strive to be open and honest in my communication, whether it's sharing progress updates, discussing challenges, or providing feedback.
By being transparent about my work and my thought process, I'm able to build credibility and establish a foundation of trust with those around me.

Humblidence

While I take pride in my skills and accomplishments, I also recognize that there is always room for improvement.
That's why I approach every project and every challenge with a sense of humblidence - a combination of humility and confidence.
I'm confident in my abilities, but I'm also humble enough to recognize that there is always more to learn and new ways to grow.
By embracing this mindset, I'm able to stay grounded, open-minded, and focused on continuous improvement.
